Visiting the Corrigans

Last weekend we drove to Hillsoboro to reconnect with longtime friends, the Corrigans.  To say we have a history is an understatement - I went to high school with Kyle, Lisa and I were college roomates and in each other's wedding, and Kyle and Adam were housemates in college.  Here are a couple photos from way back when -

Through the years we have stayed connected, even when we lived in
different states and love they live a lot closer now!  Our kiddos have so much fun when we get together and this visit was so we could meet the newest little Corrigan - Marcus!

I love this photo-it totally looks like Marcus is trying to swallow Finley!  She is keeping a close eye on him!

 Love this gal!
The Timbers were represented well :-)

What a fun evening!  The kids (and adults) had such a great time together.

Makenzie's 1st Day of 1st Grade!

So to say Makenzie was ready for school to start was an understatement!  For those of you that know her, you know she is a social butterfly and LOVES being out in the world with her friends.  To be honest, I was ready for her to go back to school as well.  Not because I don't like being with her, because I do (A LOT!).  She just needs more activities and interactions than I can offer at home.  And since I love her school, her teacher and her classmates, I know she is in good hands and she is thriving and it is easy to send her off to school.  Ask me if that will be the case when Finley heads off to Kindergarten (or preschool for that matter) and I am sure I will be giving you a different story!
(Be praying for us both now as I am sure we will need it!!!)
Last day of playing together for the summer

 Ready for the first day!

Meeting up with her kindergarten buddies!  Man, I wish they could all be in the same class again!
Do you think we need a bigger parking lot at the school???!!!!!

Seattle Trip, Part 2: Family Day to Kingston

Every year in August when Adam works in Seattle we set aside some family time and  take a day-trip on a ferry to one of the many towns throughout Puget Sound.  In years past we have gone to Bainbridge Island, Bremerton and this year we decided to head to Kingston.  We always seem to luck out on the weather and this year was no exception!
Leaving Edmonds and on our way to Kingston

The girls were super excited to spot jelly fish in the water as we were pulling away from shore - we had just gone to the Seattle Aquarium a couple days before and seen jelly fish up close and personal, so they thought it was pretty cool to see them in their natural environment.

One of our family photos from the trip
(Finley is doing her best to keep daddy's hat from flying away)

Iced Coffee on a nice hot day!  Finley is refusing to cooperate for the the camera gal (a.k.a mom)!
Spent some time at the park
 The girls loved the water...

...but not so much the seaweed!

We ate at Main Street Ale House - good food and great beer!
This is Adam's best pirate face...he must have been inspired  by his glass.

Back in Edmonds waiting to watch the sunset

Watching the scuba divers come out of the water - Finley wasn't too sure what to think!

Another beautiful sunset!
Topped off a great day with frozen yogurt!
Yum!

Our New Family Member

So we would like to officially introduce our newest member of our family - Rainbow!  If you know our girls, they are not one who tend to gravitate towards pets or animals of any kind.  So when talk began between our girls about the idea of getting a pet fish, we thought it was going to be a short-lived idea.  We were wrong.  So last week we found ourselves driving between Wal-Mart and Petco and "shopping" for the perfect fish to join our family.  Well....we found her!
The girls have had so much fun watching, talking and "playing" with Rainbow (nothing says "welcome to the family" than a flashlight shining right in your new home...right???!!!)
